charleston, y'all

Well, oops.  Haven't update my blog in forever.  Sorry, y'all.

2 weeks ago I went to Charleston, the land where dreams come true.  Well, maybe not everyone's dreams, but definitely mine.

Everyone asks me why I love Charleston so much.  And I try so hard every time to answer it perfectly. But, words just don't (and can't) do it justice.  But I'll try to briefly explain here.  It's the antebellum architecture, perfectly preserved.  It's the magnolias and spanish moss.  It's the palmettos and marsh. Marsh, marsh everywhere.  It's the wrought iron gates and piazzas.  It's the waterfront parks and and sweetgrass.  It's the steeples and the cobblestone streets.  It's the culture, the food, the art.  Mostly though, it's a feeling.  A giddiness.  If I had to choose one word to describe the Holy City, it would be magical.

P.S. I read this quote while I was in the Gibbes Art Museum that described Charleston as "the beautiful city that time forgot."  Couldn't have said it better myself.

P.P.S. As always, here are some pics.
