Takin on the big city

New York City.  Wow.  Talk about sensory overload.  Even for someone as ADD as I am, it was overwhelming.  In an incredibly fun way, but also in an exhausting way.  Seriously.  As soon as I was out of the city limits I felt my body and mind crumple with fatigue.  Yesterday I was a zombie.  But, it was oh so worth it.  Instead of boring you with all the details of the trip I will give y'all my 3 highlights and then post some pics.

1)  Spending time with Anna.  She is so full of joy and goofiness.  Luckily it is contagious so I was in a fantastic mood all weekend.  My heart just explodes with love for her so the best part of my weekend was spending every single moment together exploring the city.

2)  The food.  No words.  I have recently developed into a self-proclaimed foodie. I definitely can say that I ate my way through the city.  Oops.

3)  The Met.  I love art.  I can't make it, but I am dang good at appreciating it.  I seriously teared up as I entered the uber-famous museum.  Judge me.

My current prayer:

Dear Lord, let Your Word be the lens through which I view my own circumstances.  Through which I view the world.  The lens through which I view others.  Through which I let the beauty of this world lead me back to You.  Through which I can find joy in the hard and ugly moments.

So You Think You Can Dance (Season 9) - Choreographed by Stacy Tookey

Have y'all been listening to Maroon 5's new album on repeat?  Or is that just me?

This one might be my favorite, perfect for spontaneous dance parties in the living room with Lindsay.

NYC Bound

So on Friday I will be in NYC to frolic and reunite with one of my best friends, Anna, among many other friends.  My heart bursts with joy when I think about all the friends I will be seeing and all of the fun things to be done and good food to be eaten.  I've only been to the city once before and I LOVED it...so much to see and do.  My senses go wild.  If you have any suggestions of what to do, where to go, etc. please share them with me.  So far the list includes the MOMA, a free Philharmonic concert in Central Park, lots of shopping and even more eating.  I'll post pictures next week!

Confession

Apparently my love for Demi Lovato's music didn't die when I graduated high school.  Oops.  I hate to admit it but I can't get this song outta my head...in a...gasp...good way.

My soul is aching for Charleston.  I know it sounds silly, to yearn for a place, but I need to be surrounded by cobblestone, water, and that Charleston charm.

Official countdown until I am reunited with the place that I so love:  1 month

Eric Hutchinson Concert

Friday night I semi-spontaneously (don't ask) attended an Eric Hutchinson concert.  I was a little hesitant to spend my $$$ on it, but am so glad I did.  He is GREAT live.  Let's just say that there was lots of dancing.  And really, that is enough for me to consider a concert a successful night.  If you ever have the opportunity to see him, GO!  Here is a taste of what his concerts are like:
